Student Life

Skyler Koch

Student Life Chair

Welcome to the Student Life Committee page! Student Life lies at the heart of Drexel, and as such, our goal as a committee is to foster a welcoming environment on campus that embraces and represents the ideas, identities, and interests of every student. We intend to achieve this goal by working diligently to gather feedback from the student body regarding the first-year experience, senior-year experience, residential living, mental health, DEI, and all other facets of Drexel that affect students' undergraduate journeys.

My focus as the 25’-26’ Student Life Committee Chair will be on strengthening the sense of community and inclusivity on campus. I plan to prioritize initiatives that bring students together through shared experiences, whether by hosting events, supporting student-led initiatives, or collaborating with various campus groups. Additionally, I’ll work to promote well-being, sustainability, and diversity, ensuring that our committee plays a vital role in enriching student life and making our campus a more connected and supportive environment. I look forward to seeing how our initiatives impact the student body and the university.

Drexel Experience

The Drexel experience committee core will work with upper-year students, student organizations, and university administrators to enhance students' school experience past their first year, including but not limited to supporting a smooth transition into Co-op cycles, ICA/Study Abroad experiences, and advocating for continued improvements to campus facilities and student opportunities.

Residential Living

The residential living subcommittee will work with students and university administration to ensure living conditions and policies are adequate and do not pose a threat and/or obstacle to students' safety and/or academic well-being.

Mental Health

The mental health committee core will work with students, student organizations, and university administration to bring awareness, including but not limited to mental health, existing resources, and best practices to support students' mental health.

Safety

The safety committee core will work with students, the Drexel University Police Department (DUPD), and university administration to foster a safer campus environment. This includes but is not limited to supporting student-led events, promoting safety awareness, and implementing initiatives to make the campus more secure and accessible for all.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The DEI committee core is committed to serving the student body in conjunction with other student organizations and university administration to ensure that Drexel is as diverse, equitable, and inclusive as possible. Recognizing the privileges we hold within USGA, we do not intend to speak for other identities, but rather to serve as a voice to advocate for students of all identities and protected categories.
