Welcome to the Student Life Committee Page!

Katie Moorcones

Student Life Chair

Welcome to the Student Life Committee page! Student Life lies at the heart of Drexel, and as such, our goal as a committee is to foster a welcoming environment on campus that embraces and represents the ideas, identities, and interests of every student. We intend to achieve this goal by working diligently to gather feedback from the student body regarding the first-year experience, senior-year experience, residential living, mental health, DEI, and all other facets of Drexel that affect students' undergraduate journeys.

My main personal goal as the 23'-24' Student Life Committee Chair is to promote mental health resources and make safe drug usage a more comfortable/active topic on campus. Recent years have highlighted the importance of mental health resources and outlets. Drexel offers a variety of mental health resources, but drug usage has also become a popular coping mechanism. As fentanyl overdoses continue to rise it is important the student body has access to and is aware of resources that can assist before, during, or after an overdose, as well as general drug safety knowledge. I look forward to seeing how our initiatives impact the student body and University. If you have any questions/concerns/suggestions related to your time at Drexel, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at km3946@drexel.edu

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The DEI subcommittee is committed to serving the student body in conjunction with other student organizations and university administration to ensure that Drexel is as diverse, equitable, and inclusive as possible. Recognizing the privileges we hold within USGA, we do not intend to speak for other identities, but rather to serve as a voice to advocate for students of all identities and protected categories. Current initiatives include anti-racism efforts university wide, international student accommodations and improving the transparency and reporting process of discrimination and sexual misconduct incidents.
