Maxwell Goddard

Buildings & Properties Chair

In Buildings and Properties, we work to improve the Drexel campus and the experience of living here by bringing students' wants and needs to the forefront of conversations regarding improvements, maintenance, and additions to the campus. This can take the form of adding tetherball poles and ping-pong table around Drexel, ensuring that every major building or area has numerous, comfortable student spaces to relax or study in, and even improving university policy with regards to waste management and recycling. Most of this is made possible through our conversations with various administrators and through student input. In the long run, we seek to make the campus a better place as well as ensure that Drexel's day-to-day operations have a positive overall impact on its students, the surrounding areas, and the world. Our initiatives and actions are broadly divided into three subcommittees depending on the type of goal they aim for and the people with whom we collaborate to make them happen.

Subcommittees

Business Services

Our Business Services subcommittee is the largest, aligning itself as the voice of the student body in Drexel's business dealings, both external and internal. This means implementing take-home boxes at Urban and Hans, providing input for planned construction at all scales, and anything else that falls under the umbrella of business-related services.

Campus Safety

As the name implies, the Campus Safety subcommittee works to ensure the safety of students on and around campus by working with various student organizations and Drexel's police department for things like walking escorts, safe rides home, and the blue light poles.

Sustainability

The Sustainability subcommittee focuses on ensuring that Drexel has a net-positive impact on the environment through the addition of green spaces featuring local plant life as well as ensuring that university processes and policies are minimally wasteful. This includes the potential composting of organic waste and the use of more renewable energy in powering the campus.
